A Note from Mr. Lang: You probably haven’t met me yet since I’ve been over at Harrison all year teaching sixth grade band, orchestra, and chorus. I will soon be moving to Elizabeth Forward to teach 4-8 grade orchestras there - but still directing the pit for Mary Poppins. I’ve conducted numerous musicals in the past including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, The King and I, Seussical the Musical, and Once On This Island. I’ve played many more shows on string bass, bass guitar, and cello. Musical pits can be challenging. There will be key signatures you might not have seen before. You will want to watch the show when we put it together, but will also really need to pay close attention to the conductor. (The less we’re actually noticed, the better.) We will work to make sure you can all play as much of this music as possible, and bring in some more experienced musicians to help you out. And we will have some fun in the process.
