Dear Wizard of Oz Family cast, crew and pit,
It is with great sadness that I officially have to cancel the remaining performances and events associated with The Wizard of Oz. Believe me when I tell you that the teachers, parents and administration share in your disappointment. But also believe that we couldn’t be more proud of you and your work and your beautiful performances.
I know there are many questions regarding refunds for the cancelled performances. At this point, I have no access to the building to accommodate requests for refunds but as soon as I am given the green light, I will let you all know. If anyone would consider the cost of their tickets a donation, that would be greatly appreciated as we did have many expenses that will not be completely covered by the two performances we were able to do. However, we completely understand if that is financially not something that is possible.
Those individuals that purchased tickets to the Saturday morning character breakfast performance will be contacted separately by Amy Smeal for refund or donation options.
With regard to the concession items that were not used, we thought it would be a good idea to donate those to a local food bank.
Basket winners will be chosen and notified by our fantastic parent volunteers. They are currently locked in the building, so when we can access them, we will be reaching out to the winners.
The cast party will also not be able to occur but all money collected from the students will be donated to the music department. Gifts were still purchased for the staff and will be presented to each teacher/staff helper.
For those who ordered DVD’s, while no professional video was ever done, I did record both of our shows and my daughter has agreed to burn DVD’s for those of you who ordered one. Since the quality of the video won’t be great, she has also agreed to include the slideshow of her pictures. If you would rather have a refund, we can do that, but again, all is on hold until I can access the building again.
Again, I would like to say thank you to each and every one of the students, parents and staff that worked so hard to make this all possible. I have no doubt that we will rise and do great things in the future. Stay safe, stay healthy and thank you!
